Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Lucy Baez earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2003 and a Juris Doctor in 2007, both from Fordham University. From 2021 to 2022 she served as a supervisory attorney advisor with the Board of Immigration Appeals, and from 2016 to 2021 worked as an asylum officer, supervisory asylum officer, and supervisory immigration services officer with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Earlier she was a staff attorney with Church World Service, the New York Legal Assistance Group, and the Central American Refugee Center.
