Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Brea C Burgie earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2002 from the University of Northern Colorado and a Juris Doctor in 2007 from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She clerked for the Honorable Ann A. Scott Timmer of the Arizona Court of Appeals (2007-2008) and served as legal director of the Asylum Program of Arizona (2008-2009). She then joined the Executive Office for Immigration Review through the Attorney General's Honors Program (2009-2011) and later served as fraud and abuse prevention counsel (2016-2019), and was legal program director for the International Rescue Committee in Denver in 2019. She is a member of the Arizona and Colorado state bars.
