Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Aviva L. Poczter earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1996 from McGill University in Montreal and a Juris Doctor in 1999 from American University Washington College of Law. Before her appointment, she served with the Department of Justice Office of Immigration Litigation as a trial attorney (2002-2005) and senior litigation counsel (2005-2010), as an attorney advisor with the Board of Immigration Appeals (2000-2002), and as a judicial law clerk for the Boston Immigration Court (1999-2000).
