Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Anibal D Martinez earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1994 from Amherst College and a Juris Doctor in 2000 from Columbia University School of Law. Before his appointment he served as deputy chief counsel in the Office of Chief Counsel, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, in San Antonio (2005-2010). From 2001 to 2005 he was an assistant chief counsel for ICE in New York and San Antonio, and from 2000 to 2001 he was an assistant chief counsel for the Immigration and Naturalization Service in Newark, New Jersey.
