Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Alison Igoe earned a Bachelor of Science in 1977 from Georgetown University, a Juris Doctor in 1987 from New York Law School, and a Master of Laws in 2000 from Georgetown University Law Center. From 2011 to 2021, she served as senior counsel for national security in the Office of Immigration Litigation at the U.S. Department of Justice, and from 2009 to 2011 as resident legal advisor at the U.S. Embassy in Dili, Timor-Leste. Earlier she held trial and senior litigation counsel roles at the Office of Immigration Litigation and served as an assistant federal public defender in Miami.
