Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Taiyyeba S Skomra received a Bachelor of Arts in 2000 from Mount Holyoke College and a Juris Doctor in 2005 from the University of Washington School of Law. She practiced immigration law in Chicago from 2006 to 2011, then joined Stone Grzegorek & Gonzalez LLP (later known as SGG Immigration LLP) in Los Angeles, where she was a senior associate from 2011 to 2018 and a partner from 2019 to 2022. Since 2015 she has been a certified specialist in Immigration and Nationality Law by the California Board of Legal Specialization.
