Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Shawn J. Abraham earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies in 2008 from Trinity International University and a Juris Doctor in 2011 from the Oklahoma City University School of Law. From January 2012 to October 2025, he served as an Assistant State's Attorney with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office in Chicago, and from November 2025 to April 2026 he was an Assistant Chief Counsel with the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, in Chicago. He was appointed as an immigration judge in May 2026 and sits at the Chicago Immigration Court. Judge Abraham is a member of the Illinois State Bar.
