The Honorable Immigration Judge Michael J. Gross earned a Bachelor of Arts in history, with a minor in biology, in 2010 from the University of Miami and a Juris Doctor in 2013 from the University of Miami School of Law. Before his appointment, he served as an assistant chief counsel with the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, in Miami and Pompano Beach, Florida (2019-2026); as in-house counsel at a motor vehicle insurance company (2018-2019); and in private practice in Florida and Texas (2014-2018). He is a member of the Florida Bar and the State Bar of Texas. Judge Gross was appointed an immigration judge in May 2026, as part of the class of 77 immigration judges invested by Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, and assigned to the Miami Immigration Court.
