Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Dara Reid earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2000 from Tulane University and a Juris Doctor in 2004 from the Hofstra University School of Law. From 2006 to 2020, she served as an assistant chief counsel, Office of Chief Counsel, Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, in New York. From 2005 to 2006, she served as a staff attorney in the immigration unit with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. From 2004 to 2005, she was a judicial law clerk, and later an attorney advisor, for the Executive Office for Immigration Review, in Newark, New Jersey. Judge Reid is a member of the New York State Bar.
