Background

The Honorable Immigration Judge Christopher Cooper earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a Juris Doctor in 1995 from New England School of Law. Before his appointment, he maintained a private practice in the federal courts of Illinois and Indiana (1999-2026) and served as a judge pro tem of the Lake Superior Court in Indiana (2017-2023). He is a member of the Illinois State Bar and Indiana State Bar.
