Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Winfield W Murray was appointed as an immigration judge in December 2022. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1998 from Morehouse College, a Juris Doctor in 2001 from Howard University School of Law, and a Master of Laws in 2002 from George Washington University Law School. He served as a judicial clerk for the Chief Judge of the U.S. Virgin Islands (2002-2003) and as a prosecutor with the Atlanta City Solicitor's Office (2003-2010). He subsequently served as trial counsel with the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in Atlanta and as an assistant city attorney and deputy chief of staff for the City of Atlanta. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.
