Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Tanisha Bowens earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1997 from the University of North Florida and a Juris Doctor in 2001 from Florida State University College of Law. Before her appointment, she served as director of legal initiatives and member engagement for the American Bar Association's Commission on Immigration (2020-2021) and held various roles with the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. and Catholic Charities Legal Services. She was appointed to the Hyattsville Immigration Court in August 2022.
