Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge James T Dehn earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1995 from George Mason University, a Master of Arts in 1998 from the Syracuse University Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, and a Juris Doctor in 1998 from Syracuse University College of Law. From 2020 to 2022 he served as chief appellate counsel at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and from 2005 to 2019 as an attorney advisor at the ICE Office of the Principal Legal Advisor in Washington, D.C. He also served earlier at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Department of Veterans Affairs, and as a judge advocate in the U.S. Army Reserve.
