Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Irma J. Newburn earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2002 from Cameron University and a Juris Doctor in 2007 from the Oklahoma City University School of Law. She was in private practice in Lawton, Oklahoma (2007-2008), served as an assistant and first assistant district attorney for Comanche and Cotton counties (2008-2016), and served as a district judge in Oklahoma (2016-2021), including on the Oklahoma Court on the Judiciary-Trial Division. She was appointed an immigration judge in December 2021 and is a member of the Oklahoma Bar.
