Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Daniel H. Malvin earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1989 from California State University, Northridge, and a Juris Doctor in 1993 from Loyola Law School. He served as a supervisory administrative law judge with the Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Kansas City (2016-2018) and as an assistant chief counsel for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Los Angeles and El Centro, California (2006-2016), including service as a special assistant U.S. attorney in Los Angeles (2012-2015). Earlier he worked in private practice in Southern California, including at the Law Offices of Michael J. Gurfinkle and the Law Offices of John C. Nelson. He is a member of the State Bar of California.
