Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Chadwick Dotson earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1996 from the University of Virginia and a Juris Doctor in 1999 from Georgetown University Law Center. Before his appointment, he served as Virginia's Director of Corrections (2023-2026), chair of the Virginia Parole Board (2022-2023), a circuit court judge in Virginia's 30th Judicial Circuit (2011-2020), a general district court judge in Virginia's 30th Judicial District (2007-2011), and Commonwealth's Attorney for Wise County and the City of Norton, Virginia (2004-2007).
