Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Brett M. Parchert earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1989 from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Juris Doctor in 1992 from the University of Memphis. He served as a judicial law clerk for the immigration courts in San Antonio and Seattle (1992-1994), then held trial attorney, associate general counsel, and appellate counsel roles at the Immigration and Naturalization Service (1994-2000). From 2000 to 2008 he worked at the Board of Immigration Appeals as a senior panel attorney, team leader, and attorney advisor, and was temporarily detailed as a board member from October 2008 to March 2009. He is a member of the Tennessee Bar.
