The Honorable Immigration Judge Susanna Martinez earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts with a minor in legal reasoning in 2004 from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Juris Doctor in 2011 from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law. Before her appointment, she served as an assistant chief counsel with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in El Paso (October 2025-March 2026) and as a criminal Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Western District of Texas, El Paso Division (August 2020-October 2025) and the District of Arizona, Tucson Division (July 2014-August 2020). She earlier practiced civil law at firms in Phoenix and is a member of the State Bar of Arizona.
