Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Marsha K Nettles earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1985 from Michigan State University and a Juris Doctor in 1988 from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. Before her appointment, she served as chief counsel for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement/DHS in Detroit (2003-2005), as chief of the National Security Law Division for ICE's Office of the Principal Legal Advisor in Washington, D.C. (2004), and earlier as district counsel (2001-2003) and assistant district counsel (1997-2001) with the former Immigration and Naturalization Service in Detroit.
