The Honorable Immigration Judge Lauren M. Black earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2010 from Chapman University and a Juris Doctor in 2014 from Pepperdine University School of Law. She served as an assistant chief counsel with the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, in San Francisco (2023-2026), and as an asylum officer at the San Francisco Asylum Office, USCIS (2018-2019 and 2022-2023). She also practiced with Martinez Law Group in Sacramento, Verma Law Firm in San Jose, and Centro De Ayuda Para Inmigrantes (CALI) in Santa Clara, California. She is a member of the State Bar of California.
