Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Graciela Jiron earned a Bachelor of Law and Political Sciences in 2000 from Santa Maria La Antigua University Law School and a Master of Laws in 2001 from Tulane University Law School. From 2015 to 2026 she served as an assistant chief counsel with the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in El Paso, and from 2011 to 2015 she was a border patrol agent with U.S. Customs and Border Protection based in Indio, California. Earlier she maintained a private law practice focused on immigration and personal injury matters in New Orleans (2001-2009). She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar.
