Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Nimmo Bhagat earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1981 from Patna Women's College and a Master of Arts in 1983 from Patna University in India, a Juris Doctor in 1988 from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, and a second Master of Arts in 1990 from Memphis State University. From 1996 to 2015 she was an immigration attorney in private practice in Memphis, Tennessee, and earlier served as counsel at Wolff Ardis, P.C. (1991-1995) and at Memphis Area Legal Services (1989-1991). She is a member of the Tennessee Bar.
