Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Monique Harris earned a Bachelor of Science in 1991 from Southern University and a Juris Doctor in 1998 from Southern University Law Center. Before her appointment, she served as associate legal counsel for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in Memphis (2013-2015) and held various positions with ICE and the former Immigration and Naturalization Service, including deputy chief counsel and assistant chief counsel, in New Orleans, Oakdale, and San Francisco (1999-2013). She entered federal service through the Attorney General's Honors Program and is a member of the Louisiana State Bar.
