Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Monica Thompson Guidry earned a Bachelor of Science in 1984 and a Master of Arts in 1987 from Sam Houston State University and a Juris Doctor in 1997 from South Texas College of Law. From 2009 to 2018, she served as deputy chief counsel with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. From 2002 to 2009, she held assistant district counsel and chief counsel positions with ICE in Los Angeles and Houston. Earlier she was an attorney and regulatory specialist at the Alfred Mann Institute at USC (2000-2002) and an attorney with the U.S. Department of Labor (1998-2000). She is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
