Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Jason Hermus earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in 1994 from the University of North Texas and a Juris Doctor in 2002 from Southern Methodist University. From November 2002 to February 2026, he worked at the Dallas County District Attorney's Office, where he served as a trial prosecutor and advanced through roles including division chief of the Public Integrity Division, chief of the Homicide Intake Unit, and legal division director overseeing multiple specialized crime units. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and was appointed as an immigration judge in March 2026.
