Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge James R Fujimoto earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1976 from the University of Chicago and a Juris Doctor in 1979 from DePaul University. He worked as a law clerk and later associate at Masuda, Funai, Eifert & Mitchell in Chicago from 1978 to 1981, and was a partner at Alexander, Fennerty & Fujimoto in Chicago from 1981 to 1990. He was appointed an immigration judge in June 1990 and is a member of the Illinois Bar.
