Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Gary L. Bergosh earned an Associate of Arts in 1987 from Pensacola State College, a Bachelor of Arts in 1989 from the University of West Florida, and a Juris Doctor in 1992 from the University of Memphis. He served as a Florida circuit court judge in the First Judicial Circuit in Pensacola from 2007 to 2024 and as a senior civilian attorney in the General Counsel's Office of the Department of Defense and Department of the Navy from 1996 to 2007. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1989 to 2013, including as executive officer of the 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion in Iraq in 2003, and later handled immigration cases for the Department of Homeland Security. He is a member of the Florida Bar.
