Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Carey R. Holliday earned a Bachelor of Arts in history in 1974 and a Juris Doctor in 1977 from Louisiana State University, Paul M. Hebert Law Center. He served for 16 years as a Louisiana state assistant attorney general and as general counsel for the Louisiana Department of Insurance, served as an immigration judge at the Miami Immigration Court (2006-2009), served as a Louisiana workers' compensation judge (2009-2015), and practiced immigration law in Baton Rouge from 2016 to January 2026. He was appointed as an immigration judge in February 2026 and sits at the Baton Rouge Immigration Court. Judge Holliday is a member of the Louisiana State Bar.
