Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge William A Cassidy was appointed as an immigration judge in October 1993. He earned a Bachelor of Science in 1975 from Kenyon College and a Juris Doctor in 1980 from Cleveland State University's Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. He worked in private practice at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey in Cleveland and served as an assistant county prosecutor for Cuyahoga County (1981-1984) and as law director for the City of North Ridgeville (1984-1986). From 1987 to 1992, he served with the Immigration and Naturalization Service as a general attorney in Cleveland and as director of training at INS headquarters in Washington, D.C. He has served as an immigration judge in the New York and Atlanta immigration courts and is a member of the Ohio Bar.
