Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Wendell A. Hollis earned a Bachelor of Arts from California State University, Sacramento, a Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, an LL.M. from the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's School (University of Virginia), and a Master of Theological Studies from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. He served for many years as a U.S. Army judge advocate, including as officer in charge of the Wiesbaden Legal Center and senior defense counsel in Germany, and as deputy staff judge advocate for the Third Army. He later worked for the former Immigration and Naturalization Service as assistant district counsel in Eloy, Arizona (1996-1999) and as deputy district counsel in Phoenix (1999-2003).
