Background

The Honorable Immigration Judge Thomas Fighter earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance in 2000 from the University of Miami and a Juris Doctor in 2006 from the University of San Diego School of Law. Before his appointment, he owned and served as CEO of Fighter Law in Orlando (2011-2026), was an associate at Payas, Payas & Payas in Orlando (2008-2011), and worked as an assistant state attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Florida (2006-2008). He has served as a judge advocate in the U.S. Army Reserve since 2012, with deployments overseas, and is a member of the Florida Bar.
