Background

The Honorable Immigration Judge Susan M Beschta earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1976 from Pratt Institute and a Juris Doctor in 1989 from the City University of New York School of Law. From 1991 to 2000 she was a staff attorney and later senior attorney with Immigration and Refugee Services for Catholic Charities in New York, and from 2000 to 2002 an associate with Bretz & Coven LLP. From 2002 to 2018 she served as an assistant chief counsel and deputy chief counsel with the Office of the Chief Counsel, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, in New York. She was a member of the New York State Bar.
