Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Steven S. Chase earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science in 1989 from the University of Nebraska Omaha and a Juris Doctor in 1992 from Creighton University School of Law. From 2019 to April 2026, he served as an assistant chief counsel with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Harlingen, Texas, and from 2007 to 2016 as chief administrative law judge of the Nebraska Appeal Tribunal for the Nebraska Department of Labor. He earlier worked as a solo practitioner, tribal public defender, and tribal judge, and is a member of the Nebraska State Bar.
