Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Philip A Barr earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1984 from the University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor in 2003 from the Birmingham School of Law. From 2015 to 2019 he served as an assistant chief counsel with the Office of the Chief Counsel, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, in Atlanta, and from 2010 to 2015 held the same position in Port Isabel and San Antonio, Texas. From 2004 to 2010 he was an immigration and criminal defense attorney in private practice in Birmingham, Alabama.
