Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Patrick E. Moore earned a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in History in 1986 from Tulane University and a Juris Doctor in 1992 from the University of Mississippi School of Law. He was in private practice for over 20 years, during which he also served as the mayor's court magistrate for the City of Covington (2002-2010) and as a hearing officer for the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board (1997-2002), and he later served as a central panel administrative law judge for the Louisiana Division of Administrative Law (2016-2025) and as an assistant attorney general for the Louisiana Department of Justice in New Orleans (2025-2026). He was appointed as an immigration judge in March 2026 and sits at the Baton Rouge Immigration Court. Judge Moore is a member of the Louisiana State Bar.
