Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Nicole Mouakar earned a Bachelor of Arts in legal studies in 2003 from the University of Central Florida, a Juris Doctor in 2009 from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, and a Master of Laws in international and comparative law in 2010 from the George Washington University Law School. From 2016 to 2026 she served as a division supervisor and trial attorney with the Federal Public Defender's Office for the Middle District of Florida, and in 2015 she clerked for a U.S. district judge. She served as an active-duty judge advocate in the U.S. Air Force from 2010 to 2014 and continues in the Air Force Reserves as a lieutenant colonel. She was appointed a temporary immigration judge.
