Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Miriam Hayward earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1976 from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Juris Doctor in 1980 from the University of California, Boalt Hall School of Law. She worked as an associate attorney at the Law Office of Marc Van Der Hout in San Francisco and served as a supervising attorney at the International Institute of the East Bay in Oakland from 1982 to 1997, while also teaching immigration and refugee law clinics at the University of San Francisco and UC Berkeley. She is a member of the California Bar.
