Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Michael H Bennett earned a Bachelor of Arts (1979) from Eastern Oregon State College and a Juris Doctor (1982) from the University of Oregon. Before his appointment, he worked in private practice in Oregon and served in American Samoa as an assistant public defender and assistant attorney general. He then served as a general attorney with the Immigration and Naturalization Service in El Centro, California.
