Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Lory G Brown was appointed as a temporary immigration judge in April 2026. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1999 from Spelman College, a Juris Doctor in 2002 from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, and a Master of Laws in 2016 from the University of Arkansas School of Law. From July 2024 to March 2026 she served as a senior investigator for the Office of Inspector General, Department of War, in Alexandria, Virginia, and from March 2021 to July 2024 as an administrative investigator with the Department of Labor. Earlier she served as an attorney adviser with the Department of the Navy's Disability Evaluation System Counsel Program and, from 2006 to 2013, on active duty as a judge advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps. She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar.
