Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Jack D. Patten III earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2002 from Hanover College and a Juris Doctor in 2005 from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. From 2014 to 2026 he served as an assistant attorney general for the Colorado Attorney General's Office, most recently as second assistant attorney general, and earlier practiced at Littler Mendelson PC and Baker & Hostetler LLP in Denver and clerked for U.S. District Judge Robert G. James. He has served in the U.S. Army Reserve Judge Advocate General's Corps since 2008, holding the rank of lieutenant colonel and earning the Bronze Star Medal. He is a member of the Colorado Bar.
