Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge J. Traci Hong earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1992 from the University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor in 1995 from the University of Texas School of Law. She practiced immigration law at Tidwell Swaim & Associates from 1995 to 1999, served as a staff attorney at the American Immigration Law Foundation from 2000 to 2003 and the Asian American Justice Center from 2003 to 2007, worked as counsel to the House Judiciary Committee's immigration subcommittee from 2007 to 2011, and was a senior policy advisor at the Department of Homeland Security's Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties from 2011 to 2013. She is a member of the Texas Bar.
