The Honorable Immigration Judge Daniel K. Sherwood was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in August 2026. Judge Sherwood earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1980 from the University of Massachusetts at Boston and a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, in 1983 from New England School of Law. From 2022 to August 2026, Judge Sherwood served with the Department of Homeland Security in Dallas, as counsel in the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and as an immigration services officer with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. From 1986 to 2019, Judge Sherwood operated a sole law practice, Daniel K. Sherwood PC, in Woburn, Massachusetts. Judge Sherwood is a member of the Massachusetts Bar.
