Background
The Honorable Immigration Judge Brent A. Carr earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1975 from the University of Tampa and a Juris Doctor in 1983 from South Texas College of Law. He served as an assistant district attorney until 1991 and as the presiding judge of Tarrant County Criminal Court Nine from 1983 to January 2022, including two decades as the local administrative judge for all county courts. He was appointed an immigration judge in the May 2026 investiture class.
