Temporary Appellate Immigration Judge, Board of Immigration Appeals
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche appointed Lynn Wang as a Temporary Appellate Immigration Judge in May 2026. Judge Wang earned a Bachelor of Science in 1995 from the University of Houston and a Juris Doctor in 2000 from South Texas College of Law. From January 2020 to May 2026, she served as an Immigration Judge at the Houston – Jefferson Street Immigration Court (formerly known as the Houston – Smith Street Immigration Court). From 2018 to 2019, she served as an assistant chief counsel, Office of Chief Counsel, Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, in San Antonio. From 2015 to 2018, she served as an assistant U.S. attorney with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas, in McAllen, Texas. From 2007 to 2015, she served as an assistant U.S. attorney with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Mexico, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. From 2004 to 2006, she served as an assistant district attorney for the State of New Mexico. From 2001 to 2004, she was in private practice. Judge Wang is a member of the New Mexico State Bar and Texas State Bar.
