Under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), there is a special way for professional workers from Canada and Mexico to enter the United States for work. Professional workers include accountants, engineers, lawyers, pharmacists, scientists, and teachers.
The requirements are:
- You must be a citizen of Canada or Mexico.
- Your profession must qualify under the regulations, and your job offer has to be one requiring those skills.
- You have to have a job offer with a U.S. employer.
- You must demonstrate that you have the qualifications for the job.
