The Honorable Immigration Judge Ryan J. Byers was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in August 2026. Judge Byers earned a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, in 2019 from Gonzaga University and a Juris Doctor in 2022 from Liberty University School of Law. From September 2025 to August 2026, Judge Byers served as counsel with the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, in Seattle. From February 2024 to September 2025, and previously from August 2022 to March 2023, Judge Byers served as an assistant state attorney with the Escambia County State Attorney's Office in Pensacola, Florida. From April 2023 to January 2024, Judge Byers served as an associate attorney with Goldstein Law Group PA in Plantation, Florida. Judge Byers is a member of the Florida Bar.
