Background

The Honorable Immigration Judge Nicole M. Jergovic was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in July 2026. Judge Jergovic earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1997 from Marquette University and a Juris Doctor in 2000 from Marquette University Law School. From February 2025 to July 2026, she was the program manager for the Law Enforcement Training Center at Humane World for Animals in Washington, D.C. From January 2024 to February 2025, she was in-house counsel for CrowdDoing. From November 2023 to February 2025, she was a contract attorney for the Animal Legal Defense Fund in Cotati, California. From June 2003 to June 2023, she served as a lead level III deputy district attorney with the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, in Portland, Oregon. Judge Jergovic is a member of the Oregon State Bar.
