The Honorable Immigration Judge Michael C. Scharf Jr. was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in August 2026. Judge Scharf earned an Associate of Applied Science in 1998 from Macomb Community College, a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2004 from Rochester Christian University, and a Juris Doctorate in 2014 from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. From October 2025 to August 2026, Judge Scharf served as counsel with the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security, in Jacksonville, Florida. From May 2015 to October 2025, Judge Scharf was an attorney at Scharf Law Group PLLC in Mount Clemens, Michigan. From July 1998 to July 2023, Judge Scharf served as a law enforcement officer with the Macomb County Sheriff's Office in Mount Clemens, Michigan. Judge Scharf is a member of the Florida Bar and the State Bar of Michigan.
