The Honorable Immigration Judge Meghan K. Lackey was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in August 2026. Judge Lackey earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2010 from the University of Virginia's College at Wise and a Juris Doctor in 2014 from Liberty University School of Law. From September 2025 to August 2026, Judge Lackey served as an assistant attorney general III in the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia. From November 2018 to September 2025, Judge Lackey served as chief deputy commonwealth's attorney, and from November 2014 to November 2018 as assistant commonwealth's attorney, with the Wythe County Commonwealth's Attorney Office in Virginia. Judge Lackey is a member of the Virginia State Bar.
