The Honorable Immigration Judge Joseph Q. Andelin was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in August 2026. Judge Andelin earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2007 from Brigham Young University, a Juris Doctorate in 2010 from Indiana University Maurer School of Law, and a Master of Military Art and Science in 2023 from Air University. From 2010 to August 2026, Judge Andelin served as a judge advocate in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General's Corps, in multiple roles and locations. From 2008 to 2010, Judge Andelin served as a logistics officer in the Indiana Army National Guard. From 2001 to 2008, Judge Andelin served as a field artillery and military intelligence officer in the Utah Army National Guard. Judge Andelin is a member of the Utah State Bar.
